Meet Rebecca

Hi there,

My name is Rebecca and I’m the dumb-ass who thought of these about-me type articles. What can I say? I was inspired.

Anyhow, at this point I have to figure out what to write about, and honestly, I’m stuck. A little over a year ago I decided to start blogging and I couldn’t see it through. I didn’t recognize it then, but I was dealing with an excess of emotional stress. This time, though, things will be different.

Instead of writing on my own and for myself, I’m writing and editing with some of my closest friends. Apart, each of these women is a force to be reckoned with, together, I have no doubt they will push each other, and me, to become better.

Each of the women who are writing with me have supported me and taught me throughout our relationships. Without them I wouldn’t be here. Others have also helped, but I want to focus on these lovely ladies.

I met Sam first. I know her as Sami and she’s been my best friend since I was 5. Sam and I have fought, been pulled apart, and always clung together. Through loss, self-discovery, lovers, family drama, through everything, we have had each other.

I only met Suthe my second year at college, but it seems we’ve known each other much longer. I don’t know what it was that made us instant friends, but I’m glad for it.  The first person I told that I had been sexually assaulted, she’s stood by me like a rock (a rock with a beautiful voice).

I called these women my friends, but that’s not true. Sam, Kat, Suthe, they’re my sisters and I’m glad they let me talk them into this escapade.
